WEEKLY NEWSLETTER

SUNDAY 21st DECEMBER 2008

Fr.Alan
Fr.Alan has come down with this nasty flu that is going around. He very much wants to be well enough to celebrate at our Christmas services so this weekend we are thankful to Fr.John Docherty and Fr.Martin McPake for coming to celebrate Mass here. On Monday there will be NO MASS but a Eucharistic Service.

Flowers for the Church
Christmas is a time when we remember the past and people who shared this time with us and have now gone to God “Lord rest them”. For some of us visiting a grave or a Mass is an important way of remembering. Many of us cannot visit graves because of distance. If you would like to buy a red plant (Poinsettia or red carnations) and place a card with it, we will be offering Mass for those named on Thursday 25th December at the 10.30am Mass. Please bring your plant/flowers to the Church from the 22nd December. For those of you who will be bringing flowers, vases are available from the front Sacristy for you to arrange them.

Helpers Please
We need a good number of helpers on Christmas Eve at 10am (For about an hour or less). We will need some strong people to carry statues, others to help with setting up The Table of Light and setting up The Crib. Please come and help, the more help the less time it will take. We are very much in need of a lot of holly, ivy and greenery. Please could that be brought over the weekend and left in the Side Chapel.

Altar Servers
This year St.Stephen’s day is on Friday 27th December I would like all Altar Servers to come for the 12 noon Mass and we shall re – dedicate you and present medals to those who have not yet been given one. Thank you for all you do for us.

Thank You
